Tech hosts variety of nationalities, cultures

During the 2010-2011 school year, Tech hosted 4,364 international and scholar students, giving both international students and Americans here at Tech the opportunity to experience foreign cultures. On any given day, the hustle to class can be characterized by the sound of several different languages as peers communicate the trials and tribulations of life and school.

Email etiquette easy to learn, hard to master

On Facebook, Twitter hashtags have become the norm and students email each other in phrases that have spelling errors and abbreviations. With the ability to use so many forms of communication at once, students can have trouble altering their language to match the form.

Oldest theater presents improv opportunities

“There are people here from every background,” said Douglas Abrams, DT stage manager and a fourth-year CM major. “None of us are theater majors. This is a creative outlet for us. We have all of this creative energy we can’t put into book based work that we save for Drama Tech,” said Solace Collestan, DT technician and third-year CS major.

Campus living options present advantages, disadvantages

The Freshman Experience at Tech mandates that all incoming students live in a residence hall with another person.  Indeed, first year would not be the same without the experience of living in a room that’s not only smaller than the room students had at home, but also one they share with another person.
