Proposal for better wireless reception in class underway

Ongoing complaints have motivated the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to address wireless internet issues across campus, especially in classrooms. In high-traffic areas such as Skiles and the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons (CULC), students often experience slow and spotty wireless connections.

Burger Bytes set to open in early 2013

A new hamburger restaurant, called Burger Bytes, will soon call the Student Center home. Set to open in Spring 2013, the restaurant will be located where World of Wings (WoW) Cafe & Wingery was previously.

LGBTQ receives more admin. support

The Institute of Diversity, which hosted the LGBTQ reception on Oct. 11, has begun to look at other initiatives to better aid the growing LGBTQ community on campus.

Highland Bakery replaces Junior’s

The collective sweet tooth of students and faculty alike is full of anticipation for the expected opening of Atlanta’s Highland Bakery on campus, in what was formerly Junior’s Grill near Tech Tower. Junior’s was a traditional student hotspot until 2011, when it’s proprietor decided, after 37 years of running the diner, that it was time to retire.

Pharmacy resumes operations

After having been closed for nearly three weeks, Stamps Health Services reopened its pharmaceutical services for students on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The primary reason for the close was the resignation of the two full-time and one part-time pharmacists in the same time period.

Subway fares well despite delays

Despite many delays, the Subway in the Student Center—which now features two service lines—is open and experiencing a brisk business. The new location replaces Einstein’s Bagels after moving from its former location next to Chick-fil-A.

GTRI hosts national cybersecurity summit

Tech joins vote for casino gambling to fund HOPE

Tech students behind ‘T’ thefts

Two Georgia Tech students were found guilty of abducting the ‘T’ from Virginia Tech’s Lane Stadium sign, according to the result of a Georgia Tech Police Department (GTPD) investigation that concluded earlier this week.
