Tech announced the game times of four fall match-ups last week. The opener against Jacksonville State on Thursday, August 28 will be a 7:30 kickoff and an internet-only broadcast on ESPN360.com. Raycom sports will broadcast the team’s game at Boston College on September 6 at Noon. ABC will regionally televise the third game against Virginia Tech at 3:30 on September 13. Tech game will be available outside of the region on ESPN. The penultimate game against Miami will be an ESPN Thursday night broadcast at 7:30 on November 20.
Derek Dietrich will represent Tech and the US when he joins the Olympic Baseball team in Beijing as their starting shortstop. Dietrich joins other non draft-eligible players to help the US reclaim the gold medal from the 2004 winner Cuba. Dietrich hit .332 with 14 home runs and 66 RBIs.
