Triathlon Club

The Triathlon Club submitted a bill to the to request funding for a new coach for the women’s triathlon team. The organization plans to raise money through percentage nights at different Atlanta restaurants for the duration of the semester to raise funds.

GT Gamefest

The Association of Computing Machinery is hosting the Georgia Tech Game Night, an all-night event featuring live video-game tournaments, such as League of Legends, Halo, Starcraft and Battlefield 3, food and prizes. The organization is requesting funds for security, building fees and a Technique ad. All of these line items were approved except for the Technique ad, which was found to be in violation of JFC policy. The event will be held in Klaus on April 21.

Gamer’s Guild

Tech’s Gamer’s Guild Club requested funds for 42 different board games for next year, as the club focuses on playing non-electronic video games once a week. The club asked for funds from SGA because most of their games from this year are owned by members of the club who are leaving after this semester. UHR approved the bill.

Fresh Direction

MOVE (Mobilizing Opportunities for Volunteer Experiences) and Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) have teamed up to create an event designed to foster leadership and service for freshmen, entitled Fresh Direction. The organizations requested funds for gardening supplies and a Technique ad. Various line items were struck, however, as they failed to meet JFC policy. These items included, but were not limited to, plates, napkins, knives, cups and flyers.

Nominations for Speaker

Travis Wagner, the Secretary of the House, nominated Mike Mosgrove for Speaker of the House. Elections will take place next week in closed session to determine the Speaker for the Fall semester.

Closed Session

At the end of their meeting, UHR entered a closed session to discuss the awards they will give at Up With the White and Gold.
