Olen Reid Ashe, III
23-year old Tech student Olen Reid Ashe passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008 after being involved in a skydiving accident in Rockmart, Georgia. Ashe was an Industrial Engineering student originally from Miami, Florida. Ashe was only one short of completing his 300th jump of his skydiving career. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 in Richmond, Virginia, where his family currently resides. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the YMCA of Greater Richmond or the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta.
Sheila Eshraghi
Incoming freshman Sheila Eshraghi passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2008. Eshraghi’s death was a result of a car accident. Originally from Duluth, Georgia, Eshraghi was a Northview High School graduate and was planning on majoring in History, Technology and Society (HTS). Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 in Duluth, Georgia. Her parents and family have started the Sheila Eshraghi Memorial Fund, a scholarship fund created in her memory.
