Ex-Tech employee sentenced for P-card abuse

Ex-Tech employee Donna Gamble was senteced to 32 months in prison for stealing $316,000 from the univesity using the university credit card system. Over five years Gamble’s purchases included a jet ski, a popcorn machine, and other items. 18 cases of fraud have been found in the state-wide investigation into university p-card abuse.

Biologists find red tide toxicity diatom

Julia Kubanek, associate professor in the Schools of Biology and Chemistry and Biochemistry, and her team found that the red tide toxins can be metabolized, thus reducing the economic damage these blooms cause.
