On July 29, 2025, Tech reported its success in raising nearly $300 million in support during the fiscal year, setting a new record for the Institute. This marks a 20% increase over the previous record and brings the Institute closer to its 2027 goal of reaching $2 billion for the “Transforming Tomorrow: The Campaign for Georgia Tech” initiative, which serves as its strongest philanthropic effort and currently amasses over $1.5 billion in total support.
Over 25,000 donors — including foundations, corporations and first-time supporters — contributed to this milestone. These donations help Tech advance its support for student research and campus developments. Tech President Ángel Cabrera says, “There’s no better investment than Georgia Tech,” and Development Vice President Jim Hall adds, “We simply can’t thank our friends, alumni, volunteers, and staff enough for the great work that’s being done on so many levels.”
Fundraising highlights include the Invest for the Best Scholarship Matching Challenge in January, where various donors contributed over $100 million in scholarship support for low and limited-income students. The challenge created 82 new scholarships and expanded 38 existing funds. The Marcus Foundation’s $20 million award for Transformation Investment will also propel Tech as a leading research hub for cell therapy and medical advancement.
This past October, the Georgia Tech Athletic Foundation announced its Full Steam Ahead Initiative set to deliver a heightened experience for viewers on gamedays, improving the school’s athletic facilities and infrastructure and better funding student athletes’competitions in intercollegiate games. The initial goal was $300 million, but due to its overwhelming success, the Institute raised it to $500 million.
Recent campus projects improved by these milestones include the ongoing construction of the third phase of the school’s very own innovation district called Tech Square, the opening of “Pathway of Progress,” an art installation celebrating Tech women’s achievements and the topping in March of the Thomas A. Fanning Student-Athlete Performance Center.
Transforming Tomorrow: The Campaign for Georgia Tech began in January 2018 and will run its course until December 2027, and is a part of the 2020-2030 Strategic Plan for the Institute’s total development and advancement in technology and campus experience. Tech’s fiscal year operates from July 1 to June 30, and the Institute will report its final numbers for the 2025 fiscal year in September.
