Disc Golf

The Disc Golf team came in 6th out of 29 teams in the Southeast Collegiate Open in Appling, Ga. By placing sixth, the team earned a bid to the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships in the Spring.

The Jackets also had an impressive showing among ACC teams, and Tech was the highest-scoring ACC team at the tournament.

Men’s Soccer

The men’s club soccer team made it to the semifinals of the University of Florida’s Invitational Soccer Tournament.  Along the way,  they beat the Florida B team 6-1, tied Florida Atlantic 3-3, beat Alabama 2-1, had bye in the quarterfinals round, and lost in the semifinals to South Florida 4-1.

Women’s Rugby

The women’s rugby team had two successful weekends in a row.

On Sunday, Sept. 16, the team was able to overcome a strong UGA rugby team with a decisive score of 22-17. Later on the same day, the team was also able to over the North Georgia rugby team with a huge score of 59-5.

On Sept. 21, the team defeated Lee University 22-19.

Men’s Rugby

On the weekend of September 28th through the 30th, the sevens rugby team went to Tallahassee to play in the Southern Independent Rugby Conference 7s Championship and finished 6th for the tournament.

The team kept a winning record and finished with three victories and two losses for the weekend. The team beat Middle Tennessee State, North Florida, and Georgia Southern. The team’s two losses came from Florida State and Central Florida.

The fifteens team also played Middle Tennessee State and lost a close game that ended with a score of 28-24. The weekend before, in games played on Sept. 20-22, the fifteens team played Auburn and lost another match to the Tigers by the score of 35-15.

Water Ski

The water ski team continues to have a successful start to its fall season. Last weekend, September 28th-30th, the team participated in a competition that involved many different skill tests.

The team placed 6th for slalom with a score of 150 points, 5th in tricks with a score of  155 points, 5th for jumping with a score of 60 points, and 5th overall with a score of 365 points, for another strong showing for the team.
