In the early morning of Nov. 4, 2011, three Tech students were involved in a car accident, resulting in the death of Naren Raghuraman, an INTA major from New Jersey.
The other two students involved in the accident, Ratheesvar Mohan and Daniel Hickman, both AE majors, were airlifted and have since been hospitalized.
Dean of Students John Stein sent an email message to campus stating, “Our focus and thoughts are with the families who have been affected by this tragedy, as well as those of you who are their friends and colleagues. On behalf of the entire Georgia Tech family, we extend our support and condolences to the families of these students.”
